Nova Scotia Music Week
Festival and Conference
ELEMENTS OF MUSIC
Thursday November 5th, 7:30 pm
Join us as we Journey through the elements that accomplish
music in our community. As host of Nova Scotia Music Week,
Yarmouth and Acadian Shores is planning to
kick-off the weekend with a very special evening; showcasing
the extensive list of talent hailing from Yarmouth.
Narrated by Loran Fevens (Sentimental Journey), spectators will
be taken away by performances which include:
Drum mentor- Jamie MacDonnell and his student,
Alex Surette in an intense demonstration of call and response.
Fifteen year old Natalie Saulnier from Clare will perform in honour of
Vic Mullen as we reflect on successful musicians
who have had a positive impact in our community.
Dave Goyetche and James Cody are going to join Danny MacIsaac and
Jamie Mac as they pay tribute to the late Rick Jeffery, a community icon.
Prototype Culture Shock will perform representing our independent musicians,
followed by DRUM POWER
a Brooks Diamond Production. If you haven't had the chance to see DRUM this
is your opportunity to see an interactive unique show right in your back yard.

Watch as 5 of Nova Scotia's best loud acts battle it out for their
spot on the Vans Warped Tour 2010. Bands to be announced
during the preliminary battles in September. This will be the best all ages show
Yarmouth has ever seen and is open for everyone to attend.

Travel through the dreams of young children who relive the classic
Christmas tale, The Nutcracker. Yarmouth Ballet School re-tells
this traditional story with their own modern twist, while
maintaining the technical standards of classical Russian ballet.
Let your imagination dance to the music of Tchaikovsky and
join us for an evening of Christmas dreams.

Welcome to the world of Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL, a story
we all know and love, now set to music overflowing with Christmas feelings to
carry in our hearts all year long.
Charles Dickens' timeless tale of the miser Ebenezer Scrooge who must face
Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet-to-Come, as they help to bring
kindness to his otherwise cold heart. The Ghosts remind him of the man he use
to be, the hard truth of what the world is today, and what will happen if he
does not strive to be a better man.
